Dennie Smith who founded online dating website Old Style Dating a year ago (Feb 14 2018) is celebrating the site’s first anniversary by launching a ‘Have A Heart Find A Heart’ challenge.

The aim is to ask people who are looking for a serious relationship to join her site and profit from their membership, for the first six months, will be donated to the charity Shooting Star Chase which cares for children with life-limiting conditions.

Dennie said: “I’m looking to give thousands of individuals across the UK genuinely looking for love the chance to find love. This is about dating in the modern age with old style values using new technology.

Together we can make an important difference to children whose lives are going to be short and you’ll be showing their parents you have a heart too.

As a mother of four and a grandmother, I can’t imagine how the parents of the children supported by Shooting Star Chase cope. To me, hearing your child has a life limiting condition is the worst thing to hear. If Old Style Dating can make a small difference then we will.”

Kirstie Barton, community fundraiser at Shooting Star Chase said:
“We’re delighted Old Style Dating are backing our work, we rely on local support. Shooting Star Chase needs to raise £10 million pounds annually to support over 700 families. This fundraising is a new and exciting method and we hope that people will support it. Our thanks go to Dennie for choosing to raise much needed funds for us.”

The local children’s hospice charity has patrons including Royal Patron HRH Countess of Wessex, Simon Cowell as their Vice President with patron Lauren Silverman, fellow Vice President Tony Hadley, as well as couple Laurence & Jackie Llewellyn-Bowen, Michael Ball OBE, Phillip Schofield and Philip Glennister.

Old Style Dating was founded on Valentine’s Day 2018 after Dennie’s own daughter’s experience of trying to find love.
